A MAN who is accused of stealing 20 packets of steak has come before Limerick District Court.
John Sheehan, 30, with a home address at Park View, County Limerick, is alleged to have stolen 20 separate packs of steak, along with eight legs of lamb from Supervalu in Corbally on April 26, 2025.
The court heard from Prosecuting Sergeant Denis Waters that the meat allegedly taken from Supervalu had a value amounting to €620.
The defendant - who is not employed - has also been charged with the theft of goods worth €419 from Dunnes Stores at Jetland Shopping Centre.

A third count of theft has also been levelled at Mr Sheehan.
Judge Patricia Harney heard from Sgt Waters that the third theft is alleged to have taken place at Lidl, Corbally Road on August 10, 2025.
Solicitor Darach McCarthy made an application to Judge Harney to be assigned under the legal aid scheme on the basis that Mr Sheehan “is not working”.
The defendant is due before the court again on February 25, where he due to indicate a plea.
