BREAKING: Petrol bomb attack on Limerick home while family watched TV

GARDAI have launched an investigation after an arson attack on a home on the southside of Limerick city.

A petrol bomb was thrown at the bungalow shortly after 9pm on Monday night. One source told Limerick Live that family members were sitting on the couch watching TV at the time. No injuries have been reported.

When contacted for comment, a garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí received a report of an incident of criminal damage by fire that occurred at a domestic residence in Ballinacurra Weston, Limerick on Monday, October 13 at approximately 9:15pm.”

No injuries have been reported at this time, say gardai.

“Investigations are ongoing,” said a garda spokesperson. 

The scene has been cordoned off by gardai for a forensic examination. 

It is the latest in a series of petrol and pipe bomb attacks on cars and homes, as well as drive-by shootings, on the southside of the city this year.
