BREAKING: Crime scene examinations underway after overnight incidents in Limerick

GARDAI are appealing for witnesses to a number of incidents of aggravated burglary and criminal damage at properties in Limerick.

The incidents occurred late on Friday evening, August 22 and early this Saturday morning, August 23.

Gardaí received reports that at approximately 11:55pm on Friday a number of individuals forced entry into a house on Shanabooley Road, Ballynanty and caused damage to the property.  These individuals fled the scene in two cars.

A second incident of criminal damage occurred later that night at approximately 1:00am at a site on the Dublin Road, when damage was caused to a caravan.

Both of these locations are under examination by crime scene investigators.

No injuries have been reported to gardaí at this time.

Enquiries into these incidents are ongoing.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to these incidents to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the Ballynanty and Groody areas of Limerick between 11:30pm on August 22 into 1:30am on August 23 are asked to make this footage available.

Gardaí are particularly looking for information on the movements of two cars that were travelling in these areas at the time these incidents occurred.
