TWO EARLY-morning burglaries, where thieves stole homeowners' cars in Limerick, has prompted gardaí to launch an investigation.
Gardaí in Castleconnell have issued an appeal for information as they investigate two similar burglary cases in Newgarden, Lisnagry, in the early hours of Tuesday, January 22 and Wednesday, January 23.
“Entry was gained, unfortunately, through unlocked backdoors, with keys of cars and the actual cars taken, which were subsequently recovered,” said garda Brian Hanrahan, attached to Community Policing at Henry Street Garda Station.

Gardaí have issued an appeal for anyone who may have been in Newgarden area on those dates, and observed anyone or any vehicle acting suspiciously, to contact them on 061 377 105.
“Criminals do target certain areas and try car doors and house windows and doors for an easy way in,” said garda Hanrahan.
“Do not give them the opportunity, ensure your home and car are well secured, repair any faulty lock as soon as possible and keep anything of value out of sight,” he concluded.
