The body of a man has been found on the outskirts of Limerick city
THE BODY OF a man who was suspected of having assaulted and falsely imprisoned two women in Limerick has been found.
The body of a man, aged in his 50s, was discovered on the outskirts of Limerick city yesterday.
Commenting on the investigation, a Garda spokesperson said:
"An Garda Síochána is investigating allegations of assault involving two female injured parties that occurred in Limerick city over the early hours of last Monday.

"An Garda Síochána is following a definite line of enquiry on this investigation and there is no ongoing risk to public safety.
"The sole person of interest in this investigation is deceased."
An Garda Síochána have also confirmed they are investigating the circumstances of the discovery of a body of a male in a wooded area in Co Limerick. The focus of the Garda investigation is the preparation of an investigation file for the Coroner.
