GARDAÍ have made a renewed appeal for witnesses to a fatal road collision that happened outside a Limerick city school to come forward.
A pedestrian, now named locally as James Forde from Clareview, was laid to rest following a fatal hit-and-run which happened across from JFK school on the Ennis Road on Tuesday, November 26.
Gardaí have issued another appeal for information as they investigate the incident which happened shortly before 2pm, and the driver of a red Ford Focus who failed to stop and remain at the scene.
“A red Ford Focus saloon with the registration 141C drove up Roses Avenue at speed towards the intersection onto the Ennis road,” said garda John Finnerty of Henry St garda station.
“The car failed to give way to oncoming traffic and turned right and drove erratically and at speed towards the city centre.
“We are particularly interested in the movements of the red Ford Focus after the collision.”
Gardaí are now appealing to any witnesses who have not yet come forward to contact them at 061 212400, as well as anyone who may have camera footage or dash cam footage of the incident.
