Community ‘disturbed’ by vandalism  of church gate

GARDAÍ in Limerick are investigating what they describe as a “very unusual crime”, which saw a joyrider ram into a church gate.

A person driving a car rammed the gate leading into St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Ahane, which caused significant damage to the gate.

“This is a disturbing event for the community in Ahane that attend church services there regularly,” said garda John Finnerty of Henry St garda station.

“This took place sometime between Friday night at 9pm on November 1 and 7am on Saturday morning, November 2.”

The gardaí at Castleconnell are seeking any witnesses to come forward.
