The late Louise Muckell
GARDAI investigating the fatal assault of a woman at a residence in Rathkeale two years ago have arrested and charged a man.
The man, aged in his 50s, is scheduled to appear before Limerick District Court this Tuesday morning.
Gardai in Limerick commenced their investigation after the discovery of a woman with serious injuries at a residence in Rathkeale on Tuesday, July 19, 2022.
Louise Muckell, aged in her 50s, was found at a property in Cois Deel, Rathkeale, at approximately 8.30pm that evening.
She was taken to University Hospital Limerick where she passed away on Wednesday, July 20.

The scene at Cois Deel, Rathkeale, was preserved and a technical examination conducted.
The results of a post-mortem examination by Dr Margaret Bolster, state pathologist, determined the course of the garda investigation.
Ms Muckell was regarded as a “talented” music teacher who taught in the former Sisters of Mercy secondary school in Rathkeale and had trained under the late Irish soprano Veronica Dunne.
