GARDAÍ seized approximately €3,200 worth of cannabis plants yesterday evening as part of an investigation into alleged money laundering.
The occupants of the house “didn’t know” that growing cannabis plants was illegal, according to a post on the Limerick gardaí Instagram page.
Gardaí confirmed that a further investigation will follow from the search, which took place on Tuesday, September 3, and the suspects “arrested and questioned”.

Captioning the post on their Instagram page, @gardainsta_limerick, An Garda Síochána said:
“Gardai attached to Roxboro Road Garda Station executed a search warrant this evening as part of an investigation into alleged money laundering.
“During the course of the search, a number of cannabis plants with an estimated value of €3200 were also located and seized by Gardai, suspected to be used for the sale/supply to others.
“The occupants of the house alleged that they didn’t know growing cannabis was illegal!
“A further investigation will follow into this discovery where the plants will be sent for forensic analysis and the suspects arrested and questioned.”
