LIMERICK city councillor Michael Hourigan has asked a meeting of city council whether the cutting of grass in estates was being done on a regular basis.

Fine Gael’s northside councillor called for signage to be put up on greens across the city warning people of the penalties associated with allowing their dog to foul and illegal dumping.

But environmental director of service Caroline Curley warned against having too many signs: “If people do not know it is a crime to allow your dog to foul a site, we have to wonder where they have been.”
