Over €33,500 worth of gifts were given by people in Limerick last year to developing countries according to overseas development agency Trócaire.
Executive director of Trócaire Justin Kilcullen thanked the people of Limerick for their generosity and urged everyone to donate as much as they can for Christmas 2012.
“Last year the people of Limerick added chickens, goats, school fees and other unusual items to their Christmas shopping lists to support people struggling to survive in developing countries,” he said.
Trócaire Gifts of Change are currently available by calling 1850 408 408 or visit trocaire.org. They can also be bought exclusively in Veritas stores nationwide and selected Easons stores.
