LIMERICK emerged as one of the country’s luckiest counties in 2025, with two separate Lotto jackpots won locally in a year that saw a surge in million-euro prizes across Ireland.

One local player received a whopping €2.6m after purchasing a Lotto ticket in Gala Pallaskenry and another player won over €1m after purchasing the ticket at Centra, Moore Street in Cappamore.

In total, 29 players nationwide scooped prizes of €1 million or more, as record-breaking jackpots and a run of high-value wins made 2025 one of the most lucrative years in the National Lottery’s history.

2025 was a fantastic year of wins right across the country, headlined by the largest, record-breaking prize ever won in the country – an incredible €250 million EuroMillions jackpot. With two EuroMillions jackpots, nine Lotto jackpots and seven Daily Million top prizes, players nationwide joined the list of National Lottery millionaires throughout the year.

A total of 41 players also won prizes between €500,000 and just under €1 million across all games, from draw-based games to scratch cards. The EuroMillions Plus game saw 31 players take home €500,000, while six players won €500,000 each in Daily Million Plus draws. In addition, two players shared the €1,000,000 Daily Million jackpot on September 26, winning €500,000 each.

Dreaming of becoming Ireland’s first Lotto jackpot winner of 2026? This Wednesday’s Lotto jackpot is set to roll towards an estimated €6 million. Lotto players are reminded that tickets can be purchased in-store, through the National Lottery app or at www.lottery.ie ahead of the 7.45pm cut-off time for sales on Wednesday evening.

Nearly 30 cent in every €1 spent on National Lottery games goes back to Good Causes in the areas of sport, youth, health, welfare, education, arts, heritage and the Irish Language. In total, more than €6.5 billion has been raised for Good Causes since the National Lottery was established 37 years ago. In 2024 alone, €239.3 million was raised for local Good Causes in communities across Ireland.
