The Toll House adjacent to Athlunkard Bridge in Corbally
A LANDMARK building at the Limerick-Clare border is to be sold below its asking price of €150,000.
The Toll House sits adjacent to Athlunkard Bridge in Corbally, where the Shannon splits the Treaty and the Banner counties.
Long out of use, the Toll House dates back to the early 19th century.
It would be well-known to people who walk the Shannon Fields or Red Path in Corbally.

The building was placed on the derelict sites register in August 2023, which paved the way for Limerick City and County Council to buy the property on a compulsory basis the following year.
Auctioneers were initially seeking €150,000 for the property.
But following a bidding process involving four potential buyers, an offer of €100,000 was accepted.
The successful bidders, who are cash buyers, are seeking to refurbish the property and rent it out.
Councillors noted the sale this month, and it’s expected to be rubber-stamped in January.
