NA PIARSAIGH are out to make amends for last year when they were second best to a Doon side winning their first ever county senior hurling championship title.
There are high hopes across Caherdavin that the sky-blues can gain some measure of revenge, and bring the Daly Cup back to Elm Drive, a place the trophy has called home in six of the last 10 years.
Students at John F Kennedy Memorial School at Ennis Road - where former club captain Will O’Donoghue plus brothers Jerome and Conor Boylan studied - were waving the sky blue flags this week, while clad in replica jerseys.

And there was fighting talk from the boys in the fifth and sixth class ahead of the decider.
“Will O’Donoghue will pocket Adam English and I reckon we will win 4-21 to 1-17,” declared Cathal Sheehan, 11, from Clareview.
Eleven-year-old Shane Halpin from Clonmacken is confident Na Piarsaigh can beat the east Limerick outfit.
Liam Cronin, 11, of Caherdavin, thinks Na Piarsaigh will defeat Doon.
“I was annoyed and disappointed with the result last year. It was an awful day. It was lashing,” added Shane, who plays both football and hurling for Na Piarsaigh.
His mate Charlie Collins, 12 and lives at North Circular Road is confident his team will beat Doon.
The youngster counts former club captain and Limerick senior hurling star Will O'Donoghue as his favourite player.
Eleven-year-old Harry Ryan of North Circular Road, and a midfielder for the club, believes Na Piarsaigh will secure a convincing win, by 3-20 to 1-15.
Joe McGrath, 10, who also lives on North Circular Road is also confident, predicting a five-point victory, by 3-16 to 1-17.
School principal James O’Donoghue was perhaps understandably a little more measured in his prediction.
“It’s going to be very tight - Doon are going very well. But I’d say Na Piarsaigh by a point,” he added.
“We’ve had a big run of success the last few years. Last year was an awful day with the rain and we were disappointed we missed out. But the team are hungry for more success, and are determined to get back on top again,” he said.
“There’s a saying locally that Na Piarsaigh have their name on that cup - let’s bring it home,” he said, as the cohort of students who greeted Limerick Live upon our visit to the school cheered loudly.
School staff are very proud of Will and the Boylan brothers for their role in delivering success to their local side.
“They are really good to us. They remember their roots and are very proud of being past JFK pupils,” he added.
Throw in takes place at 3.30pm on Sunday at TUS Gaelic Grounds.
