With that growth comes the need for enhanced services, and a dedicated garda presence is a key part of that. Today’s announcement is hugely welcome news for the people of Castletroy and the wider area.”

“A new garda station will ensure that our communities have the support and security they deserve. The ring-fenced funding announced by Minister O’Callaghan shows Fianna Fáil’s clear commitment to investing in safer communities and supporting families right across Limerick," Senator Ryan added.

She said that the investment demonstrates the importance placed on community safety in the Government’s priorities:

“This project is about giving people confidence that their safety and wellbeing is being protected. A visible and accessible garda presence makes a real difference, and I will continue to work with my colleagues to ensure that Castletroy and the wider Limerick area gets the resources it needs.”
