Much-needed piece of equipment donated to Milford Care Centre

A VOLUNTEER-run charity that made a special donation to Milford Care Centre has “filled a great need” for patients in their care.

Let’s Fund It is a charity based in Askeaton that was founded in 2019 by a group of friends with a common goal, to support registered Irish charities and their service users. 

As part of Let's Fund It’s Charity of the Month initiative, Let’s Fund It proudly partnered with Milford Care Centre once again in March 2025. 

The goal was to raise funds for specific items requested by the team at Milford that supports the comfort and care of their patients. All donations were made possible thanks to the public.

The most impactful part of the donation was a specialised recliner chair. This item was of high need at Milford Care Centre as it provides support for those with reduced mobility, allowing them to sit or stand more comfortably while maintaining proper posture.

Carol Murray of Milford Care Centre said: “We really appreciate our link with Let’s Fund It and their recent donation of a riser recliner and other essential items of equipment. 

“It fills a great need for us, and the lady who will be using the recliner would also wish to express her gratitude.”

The Let’s Fund It team was at the drop-off of the donation and had the opportunity to meet with some of the Milford staff. 

Let's Fund It chairperson, Stephen Ryan-Doyle, said: “The visit offered Lets Fund It an opportunity to see how the donated items would be put to immediate use, reinforcing the value of the charity’s targeted donation model. 

“Let's Fund It has built a strong and lasting relationship with Milford Care Centre and values the importance and dedication of their work and hopes to partner with them again next year. 

“Whether it's medical equipment, educational supplies, or essential care items, Lets Fund It makes sure that every donation goes exactly where it's needed most.”

The charity run monthly campaigns and have an online platform that allows supporters to donate directly to real, requested items from Irish charities. 

As a donor, you can go directly onto their website and browse their many donation requests. You can select any charity cause you wish to assist, and directly donate the products/services that their charity partners have requested. 

Once you have successfully donated, Let’s Fund It will then source, purchase and deliver the product/service directly to the charity on your behalf.
