LIMERICK gardai are more used to catching criminals - but, next weekend, they will be looking to capture some donations for Special Olympics Munster.
Community officers at Roxboro garda station will, on Sunday, once again h0ld their annual fundraiser, which will see them sell donuts in the Crescent Shoping Centre, Dooradoyle.
Between 10am and 5pm, gardai hope to sell around 2,000 of the sweet treats.

The driving force behind the event is Garda Martin Mulcahy.
The donuts will be delivered fresh on Sunday morning from Kelly’s Family Bakery in Wexford.
They are sold at a cost of €2 for two or €5 for a box of six.
The event is being run as part of An Garda Síochána’s commitment to the law enforcement torch run for Special Olympics.
It first took place in 1989 with members of the gardai, and seven years later, officers in the Republic joined their colleagues in the North to take part in an All-Island torch run.
Cops and Donuts 2024 was launched at Roxboro Road garda station on Thursday last.
Superintendent Ollie Kennedy praised the fundraising event and outlined his delight to be involved in the event again this year.
Garda Mulcahy added: “We will also be joined by trainee gardaí from the garda college who are currently on placement with us in Roxboro Road.”
He said this will present another opportunity for people perhaps interested in joining up with the boys in blue.
“If you are thinking about joining An Garda Síochána then come along on the day and chat to the trainees about their experience,” added Garda Mulcahy.
