THE HAVEN Hub and the Limerick Land Search Team have announced their upcoming Merry Christmas Charity Ball, a night of celebration, reflection, and community support.
This event not only marks The Haven Hub’s fifth birthday but also signifies the completion of the Mid-West Mental Health Community Centre, a project the organisation has been working on for almost two years.
Pat Doran, chairperson of The Haven Hub, expressed the importance of this milestone: “We’re incredibly proud to reach this 5-year milestone. The Haven Hub has always been about offering a lifeline to those in need, and now, with the opening of our permanent home, we’ll be able to expand our reach and services to support even more people in the community. The Charity Ball is a celebration of our journey and an opportunity for everyone to contribute to the continued growth of essential mental health services in the Mid-West.”
The night promises to be a “spectacular” event, offering guests a red carpet arrival, a four-course meal, live music by 17Ten, an Ultimate 80s Disco with DJ Leon Andersen, and the chance to win amazing raffle prizes.
Tickets to the event are €60, and every cent raised will go directly towards enhancing mental health services in Limerick and the wider Mid-West region.
“This is more than just a night out – it’s an opportunity to be part of something bigger, to help us complete our journey and continue offering vital support to those in need,” a spokesperson for the organisation commented.

Leona O’Callaghan, founder and finance director of The Haven Hub, said: “Our journey to this point replicates what life in general is like for most of us, full of challenges and obstacles. However, with hard work, a good support network and dedication we achieved so much and made it through the difficulties to get to this exciting point. While this forever home will be a massive asset to us, and the community, our biggest assets remain to be the awesome volunteers we are lucky enough to have at the other side of the door when a vulnerable person knocks. We look forward to officially opening our own doors on 30th November. The Charity Ball is a chance for the community to come together, connect and celebrate this achievement. Come join us and bring your dancing shoes”.
The Haven Hub will not be doing this alone, as the group is “honoured” to have the support of the Limerick Land Search Team, who will also be based at the new centre, providing critical recovery efforts in the area.
Calvin Prendergast, chairperson of the Limerick Land Search Team, added: “We’re thrilled to be part of this exciting event and to collaborate with The Haven Hub in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of the people in our community. The Mid West Mental Health Community Centre will be a place of hope and support, and we’re proud to be a part of that journey.”
The organisations are reaching out to businesses and individuals in Limerick and the surrounding areas to help make this night “even more special” by donating spot prizes for the raffle, which will play a significant role in raising additional funds on the night.
The event will be taking place on December 5 at the Greenhills Family Hotel.
