'Wright' good day ahead at charity tractor run in Limerick

HERBERTSTOWN man Joe Wright passed away in 2016 aged 92 but his memory lives on in an annual charity tractor run.

The 2024 event is on this Sunday, August 4 in his native place.

Registration for the run at the parochial hall in Herbertstown starts at 11am with the run commencing at 1pm. Tractors and vintage cars will head off into the countryside. For more information the event’s Facebook page

Having received great care from Milford, it was Joe himself who came up with the idea of organising a fundraising tractor run for the charity in 2017 prior to his passing.

His family, neighbours and friends took up the mantle after his death and organised the Joe Wright memorial run. It has become a fixture on the calendar every year bar Covid.

This year's beneficiaries are Milford and Carebright.
