My Week with Celia Holman Lee: Madcap fun for afternoon tea

Celia with Fiona Hayes, FH Style and Anne Branigan, Savoy Hotel at the Mad Hatter's Tea Party

A CORPORATE event full of ‘Mad Hatters’ is not something you would expect to be attending, but I had the honour of doing so!

The beautiful Savoy Hotel in Limerick city hosted a Mad Hatters Tea Party for their corporate clients and some of Limerick’s best known faces got an invite, too.

It was a magnificent event and so many wonderful people were in attendance, including journalist and former Limerick Leader reporter, Meghann Scully, who is always a joy to be around, and fashion designer Marion Murphy-Cooney, who I adore.

The glitz and glam of the night was spectacular and upon arrival, we were treated to a lovely prosecco reception and goodie bags.

DJ JP Dillon from Live95 was the MC for the evening, and what a wonderful job he did.

Games such as pass the parcel, dancing competitions and guess the song, took place and the fun and laughs that were had were off the charts!

Prizes included overnight stays in The Savoy and George, dinner in the Terrace, Hamptons, Vincenzo’s and of course, afternoon tea.

Afternoon tea and Skellig gin cocktails were flowing throughout the evening and there was also entertainment from world renowned illusionist, LEON the magician, which partnered perfectly with the theme of the night.

It was such a memorable event and one which lived up to its name, as the atmosphere was lighthearted and we were all giddy - which may have had something to do with the delicious cocktails on offer!

I look forward to spending another fabulous evening in the five-star Savoy Hotel again soon
