BOBBY Sheehan’s first-half hat-trick set the tone for the Ireland Club XV’s 42-33 win over Scotland Clubs, as they lifted the Dalriada Cup after a hugely entertaining 11-try encounter at Energia Park on Friday night.

The Ireland Clubs XV included Young Munster players David Begley and Bailey Faoon, while Munsters' head coach Ger Slattery was forwards coach with the Ireland Clubs’ side.

Adam Maher, Ronan Watters, Aran Egan also scored tries for the Irish side, who touched down five times in the opening half. Ireland Clubs’ hat-trick hero Bobby Sheehan is younger brother of Leinster and Ireland hooker Dan Sheehan.

The Ireland side enjoyed a significant 35-12 half-time lead in Doonybrook. Despite a spirited comeback from the visitors after the break, Ireland maintained a firm grip on their 11th victory in 18 meetings with the Scots.
