Limerick's seven senior rugby clubs resume All-Ireland League action

ACTION in the energia All-Ireland League resumes this Saturday with Limerick's seven senior rugby clubs facing crucial round six fixtures.

In Division 1A, Young Munster, fresh from their victory over Old Belvedere last time out, make the trip to Belfield to take on UCD.

Munsters', who had lost their opening four fixtures, are up to seventh place in the table after this win, thanks to picking up vital bonus points in those earlier defeats.

In Division 1B, Garryowen make the long tip to the Palace Grounds to face Palace Grounds. Last time out, Garryowen fell to a heavy 41-17 defetat to six-try Old Wesley at Dooradoyle. The Light Blues’ second defeat has seen them drop down to seventh place, although they sit just three points off the top four places.

In Division 2A, Old Crescent also face a long trip, this time heading to Rifle Park to face Banbridge.

Old Crescent have dropped to seventh-place, one point behind sixth-placed Shannon following their 10-20 defeat to Corinthians at Takumi Park. Old Crescent, who didn't manage to score in the second half, trailed 10-14 at half-time. The Rosbrien scored a try through  Dan Hurley while Jeff Williams kicked a conversion and penalty.

Shannon also face an away fixture, travelling to Dr Hickey Park to take on Greystones. Last time out, the Parish side scored six tries in securing a thumping 41-10 bonus point victory over Ballymena. Shannon had a brace of tries from Oisin Minogue, while Jamie Conway, Alex Long, Alex Lautsou and Neal Moylett also crossed the whitewash. Jamie Gavin added 11 points with the boot.

In Division 2B, UL-Bohemian host Galwegians at ULs North Campus in a crucial top-of-thetable clash. UL-Bohs made it five wins from five, with a 29-21 bonus point, away victory over Clogher Valley last time out. UL-Bohs, The Red, Red Robins just one point behind pacesetters Galwegians.

In Division 2C, high-flying Thomond travel to Ard Gaoithe to face Clonmel. Thomond made it five wins from five with their thumping 55-10 victory over Belfast Harlequins at Liam Fitzgerald Park last time out, scoring nine tries in all.

Also in 2C, Bruff travel to Estuary Road to face Malahide. Bruff are up to fifth place in the table, in the wake of their precious 21-15 victory over Dolphin at Kilballyowen Park last time out when they scored three tries, with Jesse Bowring bagging a brace.
