Christmas market returns to Limerick village
THOSE hoping to start feeling Christmas cheer early this year in Limerick will be glad to hear that Croom’s Christmas Craft Market will be returning on November 19.
At the event's launch, Edel Fitzgerald, events manager at Croom Community Development Association commented that there was a “great turnout in 2022 for the Croom Craft Market. There is an appetite to support local artists and people are looking for unique gifts for family and friends.”
Also in attendance at the launch was Lil Buckley, a glasswork artist and Tanika Daffy, a local florist.
The market promises to feature artists and craftspeople from all over Limerick, north Cork, and Tipperary with over 40 stalls featuring all kinds of decorations, gifts, and treats.
“Yes, the gift can be for yourself, I certainly treated myself last year, perhaps even to a couple of presents!” admitted Edel.
Tanika, of Ivy and Willow Flowers said that it is a “wonderful opportunity for me to present my floristry to a wider audience and I am delighted to be able to take part in such an event at my home in Croom.”
Many new, emerging artists will be making an appearance at this year’s Christmas craft market, alongside some of the already popular stands returning.
"As part of Croom Community Development’s commitment to a circular economy, the Croom Craft Market is a great way to support local businesses.”
The Croom Christmas Craft Market will take place on November 19 at the Croom Sports Hall and will be expecting lots of activity between 12 noon and 4pm. Doors will open for vendors to set up at 10:30am.
There will be a refreshment stall and space to enjoy teas, coffees and hot chocolate. Admission is €2 for adults with free entry for children and there will be a raffle with a top prize of a Newbridge platter.
The team behind the Croom Christmas Crafts Market are hoping to build on last year's successful market and all information will be updated through their various social media channels.
