My wish for 2025 - Author Darren Shan

The Pallaskenry writer hopes to get back into his 'writing groove' next year

Limerick author and artist team-up  for a ‘sweet book,  with a bit of an edge’

I HOPE to release my first ever picture book in 2025, The Terrified Troll, which I'm creating with my good friend, Eva Byrne.

2025 also marks the 25th anniversary of the release of Cirque Du Freak, so I hope to go back out on tour for the first time in several years, to sign lots of copies of the new edition which my publishers have created to celebrate the milestone.

Different teams are working on trying to turn my Cirque Du Freak and Demonata series into TV shows, so it would be amazing if one or even both of those got the green light this coming year.

Finally, after moving back into my home after being out for two years in the wake of a house fire, I hope to get back into my writing groove in 2025 and start knocking out lots of books again!

Darren O'Shaughnessy aka Darren Shan is a writer and novelist best known for his young adult fiction series The Saga of Darren Shan. He was born in London and when he was six, he moved with his parents and younger brother to Limerick where he has lived ever since.
