My Week: Spreading Limerick’s wedding fever

Promotion is a big part of the wedding industry and with that in mind we headed to the Ireland AM studios in Dublin to showcase the best wedding fashion from the Mid West

THE fashion industry at the moment seems to be abuzz with wedding fever. There seems to be an abundance of wedding fairs and exhibitions and the fabulous Limerick Leader wedding supplement is on the way in the next two weeks.

Promotion is a very big part of this industry and with that in mind myself, the models, and Catherine Hickey and her makeup team all travelled to Dublin last week to promote the wedding industry in the city and county.

I know I'm forever giving out about the trip to Dublin but it has gone beyond the beyonds at the moment with the M7 motorway. We left at 4.15am and didn't get to the Ireland AM studio until nearly 7am.

If it wasn't for Catherine Hickey and her team I don't think we would have made it on set but you know something, I've been doing this for so long, the harder you work the better the results and we had a great response to the segment.

It is an industry that I have found in the past has created great opportunities not only for us as an agency, but also for all those other industries that contribute, such as stores and boutiques, when it comes to style, beauty and fashion.

Hotels are another big part of this industry that benefit when it comes to weddings and we have some magnificent hotels in the area that do such a tremendous job when it comes to looking after a bridal party and their guests.

Keep an eye out for hotels that are holding wedding fairs and, of course, the wonderful wedding supplement from the Limerick Leader which will be jam-packed with ideas and information to help you prepare for your special day.
