My Week: Love is in the air as wedding fever grips Limerick

We had a ball at the wedding fair at Bunratty Castle Hotel and are all set for the Mid West Bridal Exhibition this weekend

A WONDERFUL welcome greeted couples when they arrived at Bunratty Castle Hotel for their annual falling in love wedding fair last Sunday. Guests were treated to a glass of bubbly and some very decorative hors d'oeuvres on arrival.

The couples enjoyed meandering through the wedding exhibitor stands while being advised by the experts on everything to do with their special day. I have always believed that the location of your venue is so important and in the case of Bunratty Castle Hotel you are definitely on a winner. It is located in the beautiful village of Bunratty overlooking the majestic Bunratty Castle.

During the afternoon there were two fashion shows showcasing bridal wear and designs for bridesmaids, mother of the bride and of course the groom.

Well done to everyone at Bunratty Castle Hotel for a wonderful afternoon!

Six O’Clock Show

ON another note, I headed to the Virgin Media One studios for The Six O’Clock Show to promote The Mid West Bridal Exhibition which takes place this Saturday and Sunday at the University of Limerick Sports Arena. It was great to catch up with the crew especially Martin King who I have known since I started with the station all those years ago.

It was also lovely to meet world champion snooker player Ken Doherty who was so down to earth and so charming. And I was so thrilled to meet Una Healy who co-presented the show. During our conversation in the green room she told me that she was born in Limerick and as a student she attended Mary Immaculate College. She had planned on a career in nursing and worked for a time in the Regional but then decided to do teacher training in Mary I.

She told me she loves Limerick. She's a great young lady and I wish her the very best!
