My Week: Social butterflies take flight at gala

What a wonderful occasion it was again at the Butterfly Ball at the Radisson Blu Hotel Picture: Gareth Williams

THE Butterfly Ball is undoubtedly one of the most deserving fundraisers on the social calendar in Limerick. The ball was held in the fabulous Radisson Blu Hotel and Spa on the Ennis road.

The glamour on the night was exceptional and for me it was 10 out of 10 for everybody. All funds raised will go to the Mid-Western Cancer Foundation to help with regional cancer services in areas such as purchasing equipment, funding research and creating awareness of cancer in the Mid-West region.

Congratulations to the organising committee and all involved, headed by Lisa Tracey.

Ladies Day

WHAT promises to be a great day out in terms of fashion and of course horse racing is the upcoming Ladies Day at Limerick Racecourse on Sunday, October 14. This year the fashion aspect will be located in the fashion zone in the main building. Fashion stores participating will hail from the Mid-West region and include Ela Maria, Marion Murphy Cooney, Brides of Glin, Carol Kenneally, Tina Griffin and Aisling Maher, to mention but a few. This will be a spectacular fashion show.

The fabulous Lorraine Keane will be there to judge the best dressed lady competition which is sponsored by Keanes jewellers.

Doors open at 12 noon. Be sure not to miss it.
