WE enjoyed a wonderful night in Ted’s on O’Connell Street in the city for the launch of Limerick’s brand new free newspaper The Leader!
A total of 36,000 copies will be delivered each week across the city. It is a fantastic new addition to the city each Wednesday and is bursting with great content including articles on life in Limerick, sport, news, current affairs, entertainment, and of course lifestyle which will incorporate, fitness, and my own fashion slot with the new addition of Celia Spotted!
Despite Storm Emma and the Beast from the East creeping in, Limerick business people were there in numbers to support this great new product.
I spotted Dr Pat Daly and his wife Mary, John Davitt, general manager, Crescent Shopping Centre, and Pat and Gordon Kearney of Rooney Auctioneers.
I was delighted to meet Noel O’ Toole and his wife Sallyanne of Browsers, Sean O’ Dowd and Jean, and of course Fran and Anita O Donnell.
I sincerely wish the Limerick Leader every success with it’s new paper!
Down with the Deise
TWO days before the Beast from the East arrived we headed to Waterford to the Tower Hotel for an evening of style fashion and cuisine. I always enjoy my annual trip to Waterford as I have family there - my brother was a member of An Garda Siochana for 30 years.
They have a great selection of fashion stores in Waterford which really works well with the audience of fashionable ladies. During the bad weather lockdown, I was watching television and there was the Tower Hotel hosting a wedding which made all the news channels on the worst day of the crisis where the couple got the Bishop to come to the Tower Hotel to marry them. They were lucky as other couples weren't so fortunate!
