WITH Christmas just around the corner, I was delighted to host a fashion event at Aisling Maher Boutique in Adare to give ladies some tips on looking their best over the festive season and beyond. I entertained a crowd of women, all from different age groups, who had one thing in common - an interest in fashion. We put on a fashion show which showcased the broad range of outfit styles available at the boutique and showed how to accessorise them in order to get the most out of your item.
The outfits ranged from casual to dressy with the eveningwear stealing the show. Vibrant colours and strong statement neckpieces and headpieces completed every outfit. The customers were completely taken with the furs and especially with the array of shapes, sizes and colours they came in.
Gift sets were also available on the night and many women picked up a dress for the party season and even a coat which is always a great buy when there is a promotion. Aisling's bespoke collars were a huge success on the night with many customers snatching them up for Christmas gifts.
Aisling herself was dressed in a stunning black sparkly, velvet, cocktail dress. A show stopping, timeless dress which is right on-trend this season and I wore a midi Victorian style fit and flare dress in warm autumnal shades of pink, camel and burgundy. It was a perfect time to meet some of Aisling’s customers and offer style advice. I even had the pleasure of meeting her mum, Rachel, who was dressed head-to-toe from her daughter’s store and is very proud of Aisling's accomplishments so far. There were some wonderful characters on the night. I met Agnes from Draiocht, who often frequents Aisling's shop and has an eye for classics and loves to add a pop of colour to any outfit. She is a perfect example of women who have an interest in style no matter what age. A true fashionista.
It was a superb evening with ladies sipping on festive mulled wine and canapes from the very talented Breda O'Shaughnessy, Riverside Restaurant in Croom, whose mince pies were devoured within minutes! All in all, it was a terrific night and a wonderful event in the lead up to Christmas.
It's wonderful seeing people supporting local business and talented Irish designers like Aisling!
