Celebrating the good in every age

Celebrating the good in every age

NONE of us relish getting old, but as the years roll on, I think we all begin to accept it a little more and try to see the positives rather than dwell on the negatives. I was recently approached by Yoplait to be an ambassador for their campaign for I love My Age.

It was a wonderful experience to be associated with this campaign as it highlighted the fact that at any age people can enjoy the brighter side of life. The launch was held in the Aviva Stadium in Dublin and it is an international event which focuses on embracng the good in every age.

On the day, I met people of all ages who came together to celebrate growing older. Among the gathering of people was a four week old baby and a 104 year old woman. Listening to the speakers it seems that more than eight in 10 adults across all age groups say that they become increasingly comfortable in themselves as they get older and I certainly agree with that! International rugby player, Luke Fitzgerald was also an ambassador for the campaign and what a charming young man he is! Speaking to me, Luke said: ‘Right now, I'm 29 and I've certainly seen that every age brings its own challenges’. He was also telling me that the next phase of his career is about embracing the present and looking ahead to the future. I wish him all the best!

Winter Wonderland

I HAD the pleasure of attending launch of the Mhodhscoil's Winter Wonderland Fashion Show which will be held on November 17 in the Strand Hotel. The press launch was held in Collins Bar in Dooradoyle early last week. This incredible school is in the heart of Limerick City and it has been educating children in the region since 1855.

This school is dear to my heart for many reasons as my two children started their school life there. The fashion show will feature ladies wear, menswear and children's wear. The fabulous Aoibhin Garrihy will be attending to judge the best dressed lady and most stylish man.

This is going to be a fantastic night of fashion and style. Tickets are available on www.eventbrite.ie. Chat to you next week!
