AS the sun shone down on Limerick Racecourse last Sunday all the fashionistas were out in force - with all eyes on a wonderful best dressed prize sponsored by Keanes jewellers.
The fairest of them on the beautiful autumn day was Sharon Kennedy originally from Clareview in Limerick but now living in Cork.
She walked away with a €4,000 diamond pendant.
This year I attended the Derby and Galway Races and I have to say that Limerick topped them all - the style was fantastic!
There was a kaleidoscope of colour when it came to the hats, from wide brimmed to pillbox to feathers and trilbys. The outfits on the day included everything from tweed dresses to jumpsuits to winter florals and great tailoring. What stood out for me was the array of colour on display both on and off the ramp.
The fashion dome was where it was all happening. As the fashionistas arrived they were greeted with a Prosecco reception where they could sit and browse through all the wonderful stands from makeup to accessories to jewellery and much more.
For us at the Holman Lee agency it was a really enjoyable day as the models took to the ramp in the hottest autumn/winter collections from milliner Aisling Maher who has a boutique Adare. The audience gave a rousing reception to the very popular blogger Lisa McGowan of Lisa's Lust List who had a tough task of judging the competition.
I also want to congratulate Margaret Hynes Cahill, a garda from Ardfert in Co Kerry who came in second place and in third place was Mary O'Halloran a consultant from Glasnevin in Dublin.
