MY GOODNESS didn’t we put our best foot forward this week in a bid to be the 2020 European Capital of Culture!
The sun was shining on our magnificent city where Limerick’s biggest street party took place. I strolled down to the boardwalk on Howley’s Quay to find an array of mouth-watering dishes that the various street food markets had to offer. And there was plenty of live music to get everyone grooving.
The Culture and Chips festival hosted various events throughout the day including food demonstrations, live DJs, music, dance performances, a garden party, art symposium and much more.
We would love to see more of these types of events in Limerick! Best of luck to everyone involved. We all have our fingers crossed for the right result!
Pride of Tipperary
WHAT a huge success the Pride of Tipperary festival has become - it is one of Ireland’s longest running festivals. This year they celebrated 52 years! The Holman Lee Agency has been producing this fashion show for as long as I can remember.
It is a wonderful opportunity to meet the fabulous young women, who compete for the title of Pride of Tipperary title. The annual fashion show was held in the Aherlow House Hotel. The weather was with us on the night which made it even more spectacular against the fabulous surroundings of the Glen of Aherlow.
The fashion from the area was extremely wearable and fashionable and at a good price point too. Well done to the organisers and long may it continue!
