Limerick looks to pull the double at the Irish Derby

THE highly anticipated 2016 Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby Festival takes place at Ireland’s premier international racecourse, The Curragh Racecourse, this Saturday.

Sponsored by Dubai Duty Free since 2008, this event is Ireland’s answer to the Royal Ascot and is the place to see and be seen, renowned across the nation for its high octane glamour and style, celebrities, fun seekers and racing enthusiasts alike.

Fashion and millinery will be the barometer of style on Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby Day itself, with many attendees putting their best foot forward in the hope of winning the covetable “Most Stylish Lady” prize.

This year’s winner will walk away with a holiday of a lifetime, courtesy of Dubai Duty Free comprising of five glorious nights in 5 star hotel, The Jumeirah Creekside as well as €1,000 to spend at the multi award-winning Dubai Duty Free and return flights.

The prize also includes a spectacular statement piece of jewellery from Boodles and a luxurious overnight stay at The Marker Hotel in Dublin.

Limerick was steeped in luck last year with Limerick’s own Lorraine O’Sullivan walking away with the Most Stylish Lady prize, so fingers crossed that Limerick will make it a double again this year.

Ireland AM TV slot

ON Tuesday we had a very successful fashion slot because of all the Limerick talent from makeup artist to hair stylist to the fabulous looks.

It was my first time working with three young talented sisters who are all makeup artists from Mungret - Fiona, Niamh and Aoife McNamara.

I have worked with many artists over the years and these girls really proved their talent when they recreated the looks for style icons such as Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe and Grace Kelly. Working on creating the unique hair styles was Christina Byrne, also a proud Limerick woman.

Another successful business women from Limerick, Louise Tsang with her boutique in Skycourt Shopping Centre, Shannon, really interpreted the looks of style icons along with evening wear glamour from Hannons Fashions, Castleisland and all the looks where completed by Greenes Shoes, Crescent Shopping Centre and nationwide.
