Asta Lee, Chloe Markham, Ger Osborne and myself at the launch of Topshop in Shaws Department Store
THERE WAS no shortage of sparkle, smiles, or celebration at the 2025 National Age Friendly Recognition and Achievement Awards.
Held on October 23 in the elegant surroundings of The Galmont Hotel & Spa, Galway this annual event brought together passionate people and projects from across the country.
I was absolutely thrilled to be among the shortlisted nominees this year, with Limerick Library’s Digital Tablet Lending Project, a wonderful initiative delivered in partnership with the Vodafone Foundation.

The project was recognised in the Age Friendly Communications category, a real honour and a testament to the creativity, care, and collaboration that make this work so special.
While we didn’t take home the top award, being shortlisted felt like a win in itself. It was a proud moment to see our efforts to promote digital inclusion and support older people in Limerick recognised on the national stage.

I was joined by the wonderful Paddy Hyland, Limerick's Older Persons Executive, Stephanie Casey from Vodafone Foundation Ireland, Noreen O’Neill, Senior Executive Librarian Limerick, Damien Brady from Limerick City & County Librarian, Catherine Bowes Kelly, Limerick’s Age Friendly programme manager and Elizabeth Stanley, Limerick's Older Persons Executive.
Watching so many inspiring projects receive well-deserved awards reminded me just how much dedication and compassion are driving the Age Friendly movement across the country.
Another fabulous event I attended this week was the launch of Topshop in Shaws at the Crescent. Asta Lee and I were so delighted to be invited to the launch.
We had such a fantastic evening exploring the new range now available in-store! The launch was full of energy, great style, and plenty of inspiration.
Topshop is a fabulous addition to the Crescent, and I can already tell it’s going to be a go-to destination for fashion lovers like me.
