Joe Quaid

Joe Quaid has returned to the Limerick senior camogie manager role.

LIMERICK'S senior camogie will have a familiar face at the helm next year after Joe Quaid was ratified to return to the role this Monday evening.

Quaid will be joined by Willie Banks (head coach) of Old Christians, who worked with him in the past with the camogie team, as well as with Kildare and Westmeath.

John Murphy (Assistant Coach) who has been Old Christians junior hurling manager in recent years, Fiona Godfrey (goalkeeping coach and selector) St Ailbe's, James Johnson (selector/logistics) Monaleen, Ray Ryan (Mindset Coach) Murroe-Boher, Donie Browne (Kitman) Mungret St Paul's and Patsy Hall (Video/Stats Co-ordinator) complete the backroom team.

Quaid was Limerick manager for three years between 2013 and 2015 and guided the team to All-Ireland intermediate success in 2014 with a five-point win over Kilkenny.

Following his stint with Limerick, Quaid moved on to take over the Kildare senior hurling team, spending three years with the Lilywhites.

The two time All Star then took over as Westmeath manager and saw them to promotion to Division 1 of the National Hurling League in his one year in charge. They also reached the Preliminary quarter-finals of the All-Ireland Championship.

Quaid had a stellar playing career with Limerick that yielded Munster titles in 1994 and 1996, as well as two league titles in 1992 and 1997.

He also guided the Limerick U16 to All-Ireland success in 2013. Many of that team have gone on to win multiple All-Ireland's with the Limerick senior hurling team in recent years.
