Rosbrien man returns to his hometown from Brussels, and aims to promote Limerick nationally

A FORMER journalist from Rosbrien has set up his own public relations agency.

Kevin Purcell who now lives in Corbally, founded Treaty Media after returning to his hometown following a stint in Brussels.

Through his new venture, he wants to try and get organisations and voluntary groups from Limerick and across the Mid-West “a voice on the national stage”.

Kevin started his media career in Red FM after studying radio broadcasting at Cork College of FET.

He worked his way up to a full-time position in the station.

Following this, he moved to Dublin to work for UTV Radio News, which provided syndicated content to stations across Ireland, including Limerick’s Live95FM at the time. A stint with the short-lived TV station UTV Ireland as a video journalist followed, before Kevin worked for Virgin Media News.

It was in 2019 when he moved to Brussels, to see “how it worked from the other side”, in his words.

During this time, he worked as a political advisor to Colm Markey - a former Fine Gael MEP who replaced Mairead McGuinness when she became a European Commissioner.
