Established and led by Bloomberg Philanthropies together with the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), the Bloomberg LSE European City Leadership Initiative will be delivered by LSE Cities in collaboration with the Hertie School in Berlin.

Mayor Moran said: “It is a great honour for me as mayor and for Limerick to be selected as part of the inaugural Bloomberg LSE European City Leadership Initiative. Limerick will stand alongside other forward-looking cities across Europe, in what is an opportunity to forge lasting partnerships, learn from global best practices and bring fresh ambition to the way we govern and
serve our communities.”

The mayor believes the inclusion of Limerick in this programme suggests many influential people are noticing Limerick's development.

“I look forward to collaborating with this dynamic group of leaders to shape a stronger, more resilient urban future,
not just for Limerick, but for cities across Europe,” Mayor Moran added.

It is a nine month programme.

Alongside Mayor Moran on the programme is Dublin City Council chief executive Richard Shakespeare.
