Big Bowl Pho is coming soon to Thomas Street
THE OVENS will be fired up again at the location of a closed restaurant described as “a real Limerick institution”.
A sign has gone up outside the former O’Connor’s Restaurant on Thomas Street which reads: “Big Bowl Pho - authentic Vietnamese kitchen - opening soon.”

O’Connor’s opened in 1985 and was a fixture on the street’s dining scene until 2020.
At the time, Cllr Daniel Butler said: “I’m very sad to hear this, especially for the family, as they were loyal to the city and very well known. Growing up, I used to go in there when I worked in town.
"It is one of those places that every Limerick family has been in at least once. It’s a huge loss to the city.”
After O’Connor’s closed, another restaurant, Oahu, set up there but that too sadly closed.
It is not known when Big Bowl Pho will open their doors for the latest eatery iteration at 9 Thomas Street.
