Rents in Limerick city drop by 1.5%

Rents in Limerick city have fallen by 1.5 per cent since this time last year and are now on average €200 less that they were in 2007.

The latest report from property website Daft.ie shows that the average rent in Limerick city in the third quarter of 2011 was €695. T

his compares to an average in the rest of the country of €615, down €170 from the peak.

The cost of renting a house or apartment in the city rose slightly in the third quarter of this year but is still lower than it was this time last year.

This contrasts strongly with Cork, where rents rose 6 per cent in the last 12 months.
