A NEW food manufacturing facility has opened on the outskirts of the city with the creation of 20 new jobs.
Masterchefs Hospitality, parent company of CafÃ© Noir, has opened The Artisan Food Factory at the Delta Retail Park, on the Ballysimon Road.
The factory will producing a range of pastry products for the Cafe Noir cafes in Limerick and Ennis, as well as distributing them to a wider range of businesses including Curleyâ€™s Quality Foods.
Masterchefs has committed to an aggressive expansion program for The Artisan Food Factory with exports to France, UK and the US in the pipeline.
Some 20 new jobs have been created, and it is hoped a further 30 more will be added as the factory switches to three shift cycles on a 24-hours a day basis.
Masterchefs CEO Pat Oâ€™Sullivan described the opening as an â€œexciting milestoneâ€ for the firm saying it will help them to raise awareness of artisan food.
