LIMITED visiting restrictions remain in place at the Mid-Western Regional Hospital, Limerick, in order to limit the spread of the winter vomiting bug.
The HSE has confirmed an outbreak of the norovirus which, as of this week, had resulted in one confirmed and six suspected cases.
Visiting restrictions now apply in ward 3B, with a maximum of one visitor per patient permitted.
Children are not permitted to visit at any time except in extraordinary circumstances and further to discussion with the ward manager. If in any doubt, the public should contact nursing staff before seeking to enter clinical areas.
A HSE spokesman said “infection control procedures have been increased throughout the hospital”.
The co-operation of all in respect of the restriction is requested, the spokesman added.
