A FURTHER €900,000 has been knocked off the price of a palatial home built for a property developer on the grounds of Adare Manor.
The eight-bedroom, eight-bathroom property was originally up for sale for €12m three years ago.
In recent months it priced dropped to €3.8m, and it has now fallen even further to €2.9m - a 76 per cent drop in price since it first went on the market.
The property - ‘Winterwood’ which is set on 2.8 acres of land - once attracted a €10m bid, which subsequently fell through.
It is one of the largest houses to have been built on the estate with a staggering 1,532sq m (16,500sq ft) of living space.
The three-storey house has an atrium hallway lit by the largest-ever privately commissioned Waterford Crystal chandelier, with a decadent stairways.
It also features five reception rooms.
It is pitched on the website as “a stunning property in a enclave of exceptional homes in an amenity rich private setting.”
“Winterwood lets you become part of an exclusive community offering a lifestyle of casual elegance, simple pleasures and world class amenities.
“Your homes landscaped gardens will blend with the estates 840 acres of stunning parkland and woodland, giving you a real sense of belonging to something peaceful and unique,” reads the promotional material.
Several lavish properties in the picturesque village of Adare are now for sale with seven-figure price-tags, which have been greatly reduced from the boom years.
