BREAKING: Sarah Beasley, Aontu, Elected to Limerick City North on final count
Sarah Beasley was elected on the 15th count
HISTORY has been made for Aontú and indeed, their newly elected councillor Sarah Beasley who snapped up a seat in Limerick City North with 91 surplus votes.
Cllr Beasley said she is “absolutely amazed” but that the hard work won’t stop now, as she continues to work tirelessly with homeless people and those with addiction issues in Limerick.
“My passion is that I help street homeless people every Monday night and people with addiction,” she said upon being elected.
“I am not going to stop working hard for these people, so the number one thing for me is to get more hostel beds and more housing, because we need to help the most vulnerable in society and that’s what Aontú is all about.”
Cllr Beasley added that she will likely feel the effects of the last couple of days tomorrow, as she awaits the mayoral vote outcomes, which she has also run for.
