BREAKING: Man, 40s, dies and woman, 30s, seriously injured in Limerick collision

GARDAI are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision on the N20 at Ballyouragan, Croom, County Limerick this Thursday morning.

The collision occurred at approximately 7.25am and involved two cars. It is believed to have been been a head-on collision.

A garda spokesperson said a man, aged in his 40s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

"A woman, aged in her 30s, has been taken to hospital for treatment of injuries believed to be serious. No other injuries were reported," said a garda spokesperson.

The road remains closed at this time to facilitate a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 7am and 7.30am this morning are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
