LES Markham from Askeaton has scooped a life-changing cash prize of €250,000.

The Limerick man won the large sum of money in the Christmas Cash Machine earlier today. Amazingly, Les has secured the biggest cash prize ever to be given away on Irish radio.

The competition is a Go Loud Network Competition, running across a variety of radio stations including Today FM, Newstalk, SPIN South West, 98FM, SPIN 1038, Red FM, Beat 202 – 103 and iRadio.

Les said he was at home watching the classic Christmas film, The Grinch, with his children when he received the call from the radio station. He was shocked to receive the call from DJ Barry Dunne and exclaimed, “no way” after picking up the phone.
