A HOMECOMING celebration for the four in-a-row All-Ireland champions will take place in Limerick city centre on Monday night, it has been confirmed.
The family-friendly event will take place at Pery Square with the gates opening at 5pm.
Limerick City and County Council says it will be a night to remember with a host of live music acts lined up to get the street party started before the players and backroom team take to the stage.
Hometown rockers Anna’s Anchor, exciting young singer songwriter Michael Maloney and star DJ Jen Payne will be warming up the crowd from 6pm.
Limerick GAA in partnership with the local authority is inviting supporters to join the family-friendly party and welcome the triumphant Limerick team home.
The homecoming is an e-ticket-only event with registration now open at eventmaster.ie.
The ticket price is €2 including all fees. This charge is for the purposes of managing and preparing for the number of supporters that will attend.
Fans are asked to be patient as they log on to get their tickets, which are available on a first come first served basis and can be downloaded onto phones.
There is limited capacity so in the interests of fairness and allowing as many supporters as possible to get tickets, they will be limited to six tickets per transaction.
Supporters are being advised they will not gain entry without a ticket so please do not attend unless you have secured yours in advance.
Mayor of the City and County of Limerick, Cllr Gerald Mitchell, said: “I’ve heard it said that you haven’t won an All Ireland until you beat Kilkenny in the final. Now we have back to back wins over the Cats. This was a stunning victory by an amazing team of young men. John Kiely, the players and all the backroom staff are mighty heroes who have given an almighty lift to us all here in Limerick again this year. Achieving four championship wins in a row is an incredible achievement. As Mayor of the City and County of Limerick I am looking forward to welcoming them and the Liam McCarthy Cup back to Limerick once again in front of thousands of supporters at Pery Square. It’s time to party! Luimneach Abú!”

Chairperson of the Limerick GAA County Board, Seamus McNamara commented: “We are beyond delighted to have equalled the record of four championship wins in a row. It is a mark of the character, strength and dedication of this side led by John Kiely. The competition throughout the championship this year was fierce and that makes this victory even more satisfying. We are truly living in a golden age of hurling in Limerick.
"I want to thank the supporters who travelled by trains, planes, buses and cars to create a sea of green at Croke Park today. It gave a huge lift to the players. And it was great to see so many enjoying the match at the Big Screen watch party in Pery Square in Limerick city as well. Safe travels back to Limerick tonight and we’ll see you all at the Homecoming party in Pery Square tomorrow. Ar son Coiste Luiminigh go raibh míle maith agaibh go léir.”
Limerick’s own Liam Ahern will MC the family-friendly Homecoming event in Pery Square.
Alcohol consumption will not be permitted.
