The suspect is being detained at Henry Street garda station
A MAN has been arrested by gardai who are investigating a fatal assault in Rathkeale last summer.
The suspect, whose aged in his 50s, was arrested this Tuesday afternoon and is currently being detained at Henry Street garda station in the city
The victim - Louise Muckell - died at University Hospital Limerick on July 20, 2022 a day after she was found with serious injuries at a house at Cois Deel, Rathkeale. She was aged in her mid-50s.
Previously, gardai confirmed they believed the deceased had frequented a property in the Windmill Street area of Limerick city in the days before she died and that her movements to and from that property formed part of the investigation.
The man arrested this Tuesday can be detained without charge for up to 24 hours.
Gardai say investigations are ongoing.
