A MAN ARRESTED by gardai investigating a fatal assault in Limerick has been released without charge.

Gardai apprehended the male, aged in his early 50s yesterday in connection with the death of Louise Muckell.

She passed away in hospital on July 20 last - the day after she was found with fatal injuries at a house in Cois Deel, Rathkeale.

The suspect was held at Henry Street garda station, but this evening, officers have confirmed he has been released without charge.
