LIMERICK folk will be well represented in London’s annual St Patrick’s Day parade this Sunday.
Members of the Limerick Exiles Association, which supports former Treatymen in the British capital, will march in the parade, expected to draw tens of thousands of people to the streets of London.
Around 50 people are expected to march under the Limerick Exiles Association banner, and secretary John Giltenan, originally of Caherdavin, says he is hoping for fine weather.
“Hopefully there will be a good celebration, and hopefully we will enjoy a good turnout, and that we are celebrating Ireland having won the Six Nations championship,” he added.
The parade will commence from Piccadilly Circus, and travel through the heart of London to Trafalgar Square.
On the previous evening, the Council of Irish County Associations will hold their annual St Patrick’s banquet in the Irish Centre in Camden, North London.
