PLANS for Limerick’s Riverfest are set to be unveiled next week, organisers have said.
The festival is being run this year by Galway events company Grooveyard, who won the tender from the council for an initial one year period to run festivals in the city, with an option to extend for two additional one year periods.
Riverfest will run from Friday, May 1 to Monday, May 4 on the May Bank Holiday weekend and Grooveyard said “full details of this year’s programme” will be launched next Tuesday, the Leader understands.
Returning for an 11th successive year, the company did confirm that usual favourites including the Coors Light Riverfest BBQ and the Soapbox Derby will return this year, with application forms for both available online.
The company has said that there will also be “some new additions which will be announced shortly”.
A series of concerts are set to take place in the Milk Market that weekend, with Hudson Taylor and Nathan Carter both to play the ‘Big Top’ venue over that May Bank Holiday weekend.
The Barringtons Hospital Great Limerick Run will also take place on Sunday, May 3, with thousands of participants to take part.
